Help!™ is a configuration problem solving utility for the Macintosh.
WHAT DOES IT DO?
Help! is the only application which pinpoints Macintosh system configuration problems and tells exactly how to fix them. Help! can be used to improve the efficiency of a Macintosh and prevent system crashes. The program uses artificial intelligence to detect and help solve conflicts, incompatibilities, and other configuration problems.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
First, Help! collects information about the Macintosh’s configuration (installed hardware, software, system software, system settings, etc.).
It then uses an expert system to compare the collected information with a built-in knowledgebase of over 3,000 problem solving rules covering more than 2,800 3rd -party products.
Help! then creates a comprehensive report which lists all problems detected along with suggestions for solving each one.
WHAT TYPES OF PROBLEMS DOES IT DETECT?
Help! detects and offers solutions for:
• INIT conflicts
• Incompatibilities between applications, INIT’s, system software and hardware
• Memory shortages
• Improperly installed files
• Damaged files
• Duplicate files
• Environmental problems
WHAT ELSE DOES IT DO?
Help! also has a simulation feature which allows you to check in advance for problems which might arise if you were to upgrade system software, install more memory, change monitor settings, install a math co-processor, turn on System 7-specific features such as virtual memory, 32-bit addressing or personal file sharing, etc.
The Help! report also contains a Current Versions section where all installed files are listed. This section lists the currently installed version and the latest version available from the vendor.
HOW DOES IT STAY UP TO DATE?

We continually update the information in Help!’s knowledgebase as new conflicts, incompatibilities and other configuration problems are discovered. Because of this, the value of the knowledgebase increases dramatically over time.
